The Virtual Peace Garden

Philip Linden, CEO of Linden Labs, creator of Second Life, said in a 2009 interview, "Today what excites me ... is the possibility that SL can make the real world better and safer by connecting different cultures and people more quickly than otherwise might have happened."

Great vision, and one that seems consistent with a Virtual Peace Garden, although we can never forget the really limited global access to SL, the really limited demographic using the space. I don't really think the Virtual Peace Garden is going to facilitate global interconnectedness through SL, but I do hope it motivates users to pursue "a better world" "more quickly than might [otherwise] have happened."
